Profile:

As a writer and filmmaker my work is published and broadcast across the English-speaking world. I deal with travel, current affairs, media ethics and religion. I also write fiction.

Journalism:

Freelance journalist, New York (2008-present) 

Travel writer for The Age and Sydney Morning Herald (Australia), Toronto Star (Canada), Spiritual writing for The Catholic Herald (London), Opinion writing for CNN.com (New York) and openDemocracy.org, Features for The Guardian (London), Documentary film about two mass shootings made for National Union of Journalists’ conference (UK). Write for a number of business to business and news media Passenger Terminal International, Postal Technology International (UK-based trade magazines), Earthtechling.com (US-based green tech website).

Children’s Writer (2008 – present) 

Authored three children’s stories illustrated by well-known New York-based artist. The first is a celebration of birthdays and the second tells the story of a girl who wakes one day to find the world has lost its color.

Write and edit content for online book seller specializing in travel.

Multi media journalist, CNN, London (2007-2008)

Began as a newswire reporter covering Europe and Africa for CNN’s in-house wire service. Then worked as an online features writer for a number of network shows.

Foreign desk assistant, Sunday Telegraph, London (2006-2007)

Helped edit the international news section of the leading London broadsheet.

Multi media journalist, The Guardian, London (2006-2007)

Wrote and produced stories for the personal finance section of newspaper Web site.

Other experiences:

New York Holiday Market (Christmas 2010-2012)

For six weeks, ran a booth selling prints and woodblocks of original artwork at the Holiday market in Manhattan’s Union Square. Along with my partner, I built and managed the booth and hand produced the products sold there.

Rail journey from London to Japan (2007)

The trip was the subject of a blog for telegraph.co.uk.

Tour leader in Tuscanny (2002)

Led outdoor walking holidays through the Italian countryside for UK-based adventure travel firm.

English teacher in Paris (1998-1999)

Taught English to employees in major businesses in the French capital.
